Big Vikinglotto Win in Norway As Jackpot Passes €20 Million

Big Vikinglotto Win in Norway As Jackpot Passes €20 Million

The Vikinglotto jackpot has climbed to its highest amount since June following another rollover in the latest draw, but one Norwegian player still had cause to celebrate last night after winning a big prize in the second tier.

Latest Vikinglotto Results

The numbers drawn on Wednesday were 10, 20, 22, 28, 29 and 37, with Viking Ball 1. There were over 330,000 prizes given away in total across the nine participating countries, and you can see a full breakdown on the Vikinglotto Results page.

The biggest winner was the ticket holder from Norway who matched all six main numbers without the Viking Ball, earning themselves a prize worth 2.4 million kr (€263,189). Norsk Tipping quickly made contact with the player and later announced that it was a man from Holmestrand in Vestfold.

He could scarcely believe the news when he was told how much he had won, saying: “Oh, now I’m shivering here. I’ve been on this coupon for years, but this should happen, no, that’s amazing.”

The lucky player, who bought a five-week ticket in Holmestrand in early September, told officials that he wished to keep his identity private. He can now look forward to the future and plan how to enjoy his winnings, whether he wants to buy a new house or car or just look after his family.

Vikinglotto Jackpot Keeps Rising

The Vikinglotto jackpot has been building steadily since a player from Hedmark in Norway won 70 million kr (€7.3 million) on 25th July. The latest rollover has pushed the top prize up to €21 million, putting it equal with the size of the jackpot won by a Norwegian participant on 27th June.

The Vikinglotto jackpot can only grow up to €35 million before it is capped. Once it reaches this level, any additional funds filter down to the ‘Match 6’ tier, which also has a cap of €35 million. The top two prize divisions receive money from all the participating countries, and then each lottery operator decides how to distribute the rest of the prize money generated in their own nation.

Go to the Prizes page to learn more about how to win awards in each of the different countries, and then why not have a go at trying to land the next big jackpot? You can go to an authorised retailer or take part online. Best of luck!
