Vikinglotto Tips
The odds of winning the Vikinglotto jackpot are the same for every set of numbers, but there are certain ways you can improve your chances of winning a prize, whether that’s teaming up with other players as part of a syndicate or playing system games to cover more number combinations.
Buy More Tickets
Buying more lines is the only guaranteed way of improving your odds of winning. With every additional line you enter, your chances increase. For example, if you buy 100 lines of numbers, your odds of winning the jackpot improve from 1 in 61,357,560 to 1 in 613,575. Syndicates and systems offer easy ways to play multiple lines.
Join a Syndicate
By joining a syndicate, you pool your resources with other players to have a share in multiple lines of lottery numbers. Any prizes won are then split between members of the syndicate. By entering a syndicate, you increase your chances of winning without having to spend any more money. Some syndicates allow you to buy multiple shares, meaning that you would have the option to put more money in and receive a greater proportion of any winnings.
Lottery syndicates are traditionally organised between friends, family or co-workers, but joining an online syndicate removes the inconvenience of having to set one up yourself. By selecting how many shares you want to purchase and how many weeks you want to play for, you can become part of an online syndicate and improve your chances of winning the Vikinglotto jackpot.
Play System Games
System games allow you to cover all number combinations within a certain range. To play a system, choose eight or more numbers to enter every possible combination of those numbers into the lottery. This is a good way of increasing your chances of winning, but it’s worth remembering that you pay for every line you enter, so if you play a system game that generates 100 lines, you would have to pay for all 100 entries.
See the Systems page for more information about how system games work.
Participate In Cooperative Banks
Cooperative Banks are a combination of system games and syndicates. You pool your money with other players – as you do with a syndicate – and use the funds to play a certain number of systems. The cost of playing a Cooperative Bank depends on which system you choose to play; the more lines you enter into the draw, the more it costs. As with a syndicate, any prize money is shared between members of the Cooperative Bank, but you can put in more money to receive a greater share of the winnings.
Start an Online Subscription
Ticket subscriptions allow you to enter future Vikinglotto draws in advance. By subscribing to an online lottery service, you don’t need to remember to purchase tickets, as you will automatically be entered into the draws as long as your subscription is active.
Keep Your Ticket Safe
If you purchase a lottery ticket from an authorised retailer, make sure to keep it safe, as you will not be able to claim any prizes if you lose it. In the event that you win a prize, it is advisable to sign the back of the ticket before you begin the claim process.
See the How to Claim page for more information.
Don’t Miss the Claim Deadline
A considerable amount of prize money goes unclaimed every year, often because players don’t check their tickets to see if they have won. If you have entered Vikinglotto, don’t miss out on prize money just because you didn’t check your numbers. The number checker makes it easy. Simply choose your numbers on the grid and select ‘Check’ to see if you’ve won a prize. Full results and prize breakdowns are also published soon after each Vikinglotto draw.
